Grant Beyer, Former Hilbert College Athlete Killed In Car Accident in Buffalo

Grant Beyer, a former Hilbert College basketball star was killed following a wrong-way crash Sunday night on Route 33.

Beyer’s death was announced via social media posts by distraught friends.

According to reports, the car accident that killed Grant Beyer occurred on Route 33 in Buffalo near the the Grider Street exit.

A Nissan Altima travelling the wrong way on the eastbound lane crashed head-on into another vehicle.

The driver of the Altima was transported by ambulance to ECMC where he was pronounced dead. Two other occupants of the vehicle sustained non-life threatening injuries and were also transported to hospital.

Beyer played varsity basketball for four years in high school, two years at Williamsville South High School and two years at St Joseph’s Collegiate Institute. He also played three seasons of varsity football.

In college, the 6’3″ guard made the Hilbert Hawks team as a freshman as he studied for a degree in Business.

A tribute from one friend hit social media following his passing.

“One of my dawgs forreal. I can’t even talk about the fun we had but I appreciate you for life bro. Good vibes and always kept a smile on his face…. And could HOOP,” he said of Beyer.
